L+D Scarlet Hotel Huntington Hotel
The Scarlet Huntington Hotel in San Francisco on the top of Nob Hill was the perfect backdrop for capturing this love on film. It was fun to capture the mystery and romance of this couple, as they got ready together in the suite at the newly remodeled Scarlet Hotel. The old world charm of the classic San Francisco venue mixed with the young love of Liz and David made for a beautiful film photography session. As the iconic cable cars went by, the couple paused to share an intimate kiss. They chose a vintage look, and with the film photography, its almost hard to tell if these photos were taken in 1960 or today. Robin at Recaptured Designs. helped to bring this amazing vintage look to life.
One of the things I really love about film photography is that is slows everyone down to really capture the intimate moments of the day. Instead of hitting the shutter button a million times and getting many similar images, I get to wait for the perfect moment and capture it. When you are present in the moment, you get to really find the essence of the couple’s love. It’s the in-between moments, when they don’t even know I’m taking the photograph where I get the best images. You can see their love bursting through these images, and it was a joy to be a part of their day.
